BODY and HAIR style!

BODY and HAIR style!

I now have a few body and hair styles to choose from! I am going to give a little description to help you decide what ShaeJae is right for you!

First lets start out with BODY.

We have the 8" or 11" ShaeJae Huggable Doll.. This is my newest body style. It is a once piece body, but has feet and the arms and legs are thread jointed. This means the arms and legs are more stable.  The arms are out like your going to get a big hug, and the legs are out in a sitting position. The arms and legs are still slightly moveable to gets dressed easily :) Prices range from $60-$85 for 8" and $90-$145 for 11"

Next we have the 8" or 11" ShaeJae Loveable Doll.. This is my original doll. The arm and legs are sewn with a single seam allowing some movement. Unlike the huggable doll, there aren't actual feet, but there is a handsewn stitch to make a small foot. Prices range same as huggable doll.

I also have some itty bitty dolls.. I call them ShaeJae Snugglz and Mini Snugglz. They are super cute! They are perfect for smaller hands and budgets :) Prices range from $20-40

I also make baby style dolls. I make a 9" and 11". The 9" has straight arms, but curved legs.. And the 11" has curved arms and legs. Their curved legs make it nice and easy to get a diaper on and off! Prices range from $55 for 9" and $85 for 11"

My last items are PONIES :) I make a itty bitty Pony Pal, they are approx. 6". They are made with super soft cotton velour. I also have 9" Ponies, which are made from cotton interlock. They can come with all kinds of accessories! Prices range from $22 for pony pal and $55 for ponies and $125 for doll/pony set.

NEXT we are going to talk about HAIR!!

First we have Handspun or "Dreads" This is 100% wool.. I usually handspin it myself, but I like to buy some once in a while too :) Base price hair.

Then we have Brushed Mohair. This is finer and a little frizzier, but still super cute :) Base price hair

Along with the Brushed, we have Boucle.. Which is curly! Base price hair

Here is Tibetan Lamskin. This is a labour of LOVE! haha, It is SOOO Soft, and beautiful.. It also can be gently brushed! Higher price hair

Then we have Wool Locks. There are a few different kinds of locks that could be used, Teeswater, Mohair, Wensleydale.. But in this photo I used Teeswater.. LOVE! I crochet a cap and weft the locks together then tightly sew them into the crochet cap making a wig. Higher price hair

Lock Spun... This is a beautiful chunky hair that is handspun like the "Dread" Hair but instead of using a smooth roving batt it is spun using locks.. It is absolutely gorgeous! Higher price hair

Straight Weft! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.. This can be made using combed mohair or silk. It is a wig made using the same technique as the wool locks. In most cases this hair can be gently brushed! Higher price hair

DIY photo set

Ok.... After fighting with fabric to be wrinkle, bump, and fold free, I got SICK and TIRED of it and decided to do something...

So here it is!! Its my own photo set for my ShaeJaes!! I am uber excited to have something idiot proof that I can just put in front of my window or outside and know the pictures will look good :)

Yesterday my baby girl got her "big girl" dresser, and left over was this huge box!! It was sitting in my porch and I was about to throw it out the door when I had a "AHHA" moment!

I folded the lid up and glued the crap out of it so it is rock hard, sturdy! I then took some white coloured flannel I had laying around and glued it to the cardboard! Then for some cool accent colours I took some super cute fabrics and glued them to the top :)
The first option is to just have a white background..

The second option is to tie the accent fabric to create a "window" look.

and the third optionn is to lay the fabric out to cover the entire back for a spash of colour!

Best part is, when I get sick of these 2 accent fabrics I can easily remove them and add different ones :)  Wahoo!! Now if you make and sell products I recommend doing something like this!  Photos are SOOOO important!  Making your product look the best that it can, will make it sell faster :)

(PS.. If you do go through the trouble making a sweet photo set like this one.. please Please PLEASE make sure you use good lighting!! Good lighting brings out all the colours and makes your photo look clear and crisp!  Don't take a picture in your basement and then post it in your etsy store!)

Have a great day!

ShaeJae Pony

The newest addition to ShaeJae is the 9" and 12" ShaeJae Pony!

Their legs are medium firmly stuffed, they are firm enough to hold a doll but yes soft enough for it to still be a fun soft childs toy :)
I measure them from the bottom of their hoof to the top of their head when its raised as high as it reaches.
They made a perfect companion for your ShaeJae Doll!!
The bodies are made from a high quality soft cotton interlock fabric and they are stuffied with cleaned and carted wool.
I use a crochet cap style to attach the handspun mane and tail.
I drafted, tested and created 100% of the design of the ShaeJae Pony :)

ShaeJae Wuv Baby

Introducing the NEW ShaeJae Wuv Baby

Why Wuv Baby?? Well after searching for a suitable doll for my 1 year old for Christmas I almost gave up!  Either other doll makers didn't make them or they were impossible to get! So I have been thinking about this for a while creating and playing with a pattern that is a little different then my other lovies and dolls.. I did recently find another page that I got lucky enough to get one of their babies, but I decided to go ahead and make a ShaeJae Baby :)

Their heads are the same as my other lovies and dolls, I still use a crochet cap.. But the hair is much much shorter...
But here ou can see still long enough to put into little pig tails... My daughter loved her, gave her a BIG hug :)
This is what gives the wuv baby a "baby" look.. The curved leggs.  Wuv baby arms are the same as my lovies and dolls.  They are also not as stuffed, giving them a softer feel.
I named the Wuv Baby, Wuv because when my daughter says goodnight to me and says "love you" it sounds like wuv you.... I think its cute, just like this baby xoxo
